W is for We the People

WE, THE PEOPLE OF INDIA, having solemnly resolved to constitute India into a
SOVEREIGN SOCIALIST SECULAR DEMOCRATIC REPUBLIC and to secure to all its
citizens:
JUSTICE, social, economic and political;
LIBERTY of thought, expression, belief, faith and worship;
EQUALITY of status and of opportunity;
and to promote among them all
FRATERNITY assuring the dignity of the individual and the unity and integrity of the
Nation;
IN OUR CONSTITUENT ASSEMBLY this twenty-sixth day of November, 1949, do
HEREBY ADOPT, ENACT AND GIVE TO OURSELVES THIS CONSTITUTION.

Thus runs the preamble of the constitution of India. So many decades down the line, I wonder how much of it has been realised.

What are the things that you will love to see disappear from your nation?

Entry for letter W.

  1. Dear Blogger,

    I will like to see everything that is contrary to the preamble disappear. I wish we had the vision and the opportunity to be able to do something for our country and also the world.

    W is also for "Where the mind is without fear..."

    1. If only it could happen!

      I forgot about 'Where the mind...' though I heard it quoted just a couple of days ago. Perhaps next year...:)

  2. It would be nice if those aims could be achieved in all countries
